WOAH: Terrestrial Animal Health Standards for Comment

Last Modified: March 24, 2026

The Code Commission helps ensure the Terrestrial Animal Health Code (Terrestrial Code) reflects current scientific information. The Terrestrial Code contains international standards for trade, disease prevention, and disease control for terrestrial animals and their products.

APHIS provides the draft standards ("Part A" standards and "Part B" standards) below and invites stakeholders to comment.

  • "Part A" standards are proposed for adoption in May.
  • "Part B" standards will go through additional rounds of comments before being proposed for adoption.

To provide comments:

  1. Download the files by clicking the links below that correspond to the standards you wish to review.
  2. Edit the specific text you are commenting on by proposing text changes (that is, edit the text the way you believe it should read) using “Track Changes” in Microsoft Word.
  3. Add a “comment” with the supporting scientific or other rationale for each of your proposed text changes using “Track Changes” in Microsoft Word.
  4. Submit your proposed changes to usa.oie.iahs@usda.gov
    1. Part A chapters-no later than April 10, 2026
    2. Part B chapters-no later than June 5, 2026
